A week with iPad

Like any Apple product of recent time, the iPad has been boosted into the pop culture limelight before even being released. Comedians and late night tv shows poked fun at the device’s name but this only helped bolster the hype. Early adopters and Apple fanboys/fangirls ensured that the iPad who be a success for Apple. Though content with my laptop (an Apple Macbook) and smartphone (Google Nexus One), I decided to join the masses and become an iPad owner. Would this device find it’s niche in my digital lifestyle or would it get an early place in my museum of unused technology? (more…)

Paying It Forward

I’ve spent the past couple of weeks bouncing around ideas with a few colleagues about a growing concern: the multitude of games that our friends are playing (quite addictively I may add) on social networks such as Facebook but no-one really knows much about them. Our solution: we’ll play them as well and review them for you, so you’ll know what’s hot, what’s not and what’s so Web 1.0

Coming soon: N-Gage Reviews

I’ve been enjoying the mobile gaming that my N82 has been offering and I’ll be reviewing the following N-Gage titles very soon: EA Sports FIFA 08, Brain Challenge, Hooked On: Creatures of the Deep and Space Impact Kappa Base.

Although these games have been reviewed elsewhere in the blogosphere, my perspective will be different in 2 aspects:
1. My reviews will analyze the game’s based on the Design, Play, Experience framework (that I have encountered in my studies in Serious Game Design)
2. My reviews will be based on actually playing the games on a Nokia N82.
